In reference to your booking arrangements, “You” means you and other travellers included on your booking. “We” and “Us” refers to Destination Myanmar Business Group Co., Ltd, also referred herein as “DMT”. Upon receipt of your initial travel deposit means that you and all the persons travelling on your booking have thoroughly read, understood and approved the terms and conditions that constitute this agreement.
BOOKING PROCESS
Once we have received the confirmation of the itinerary, price and payment from you, we will proceed the bookings which normally take three working days. We will then inform you the confirmation as soon as we received from the suppliers.
PAYMENTS & DEPOSIT
Once you agreed our proposal, you will be informed if the deposit payment is needed in accordance with the terms of suppliers included in your program. But it depends on the type of service and terms of suppliers. In most cases, we accept 50% of total amount as a refundable deposit for the bookings prior to 45 days and the remaining balance is collected one week before arrival or cash on arrival.
RATES & PAYMENT PROCEDURES
We quote all the prices in US currency. The validity of the booking will be clearly mentioned on the specified invoice and proposal and price may change depend on the current market fluctuation, tax or currency exchange. But it may not impact on any confirmed bookings.
We will suggest bank transfer or 2P2C and advise you the details once payment confirmation has been made. You need to pay the bank charge or fee levied by the sending Bank or 2P2C relating to the payment to Destination Myanmar Travel Company.
CANCELLATION
Cancellation should be made through writing and will be effective as soon as you received our acknowleged reply. As we are working with many hotels, airlines, cruises and so on, we have to practise our policies in line with these suppliers. Some suppliers have strict policies while others go along with more flexibility. Generally the suppliers such as Hotels, contracted to us collect 30% of fees of total for any cancellation between 35 and 31 days from the date of arrival. But there will be some variation depend on the policies of the suppliers. Cancellation fee will rise up to full payment as the tour cancelled closer to arrival. In this case of cancellation fee levied by the suppliers, we will not take any advantages or administration charges except the fee imposed by the suppliers.
CONDUCT WHILE TRAVELLING
We have the right not to admit you as our client or discontinue our relations with you, if your actions, behaviour and demeanour are deemed offensive and abusive to other travellers, our staff and suppliers.
Should the captain of your cruise ship or flight and or any of our suppliers confirmed that you are a threat and or carry an infectious disease, they reserve the right to refuse you, or to continue with your travel booking, or disembark you from the ship, or aircraft, and or they may also restrict your movements on board. DMT holds no any responsibility in case you are denied of the services you paid for because of your threatening or alarming behaviour, or if you carry any infectious disease. We are not liable for any compensation or refund on your behalf. Please be aware that if you are engaged in any forms of abuse or prostitution, we reserve the right to report you to the proper authorities.
ACCOMMODATION
Your accommodation will be provided as per the specified facilities such as size of the bed, number of rooms, air conditioning and many others. Rest assure that we will provide you with the best possible alternative in any event that the facilities or amenities are not available. If circumstances arise that we need to accommodate you with an alternative hotel with the same facilities, we will do so. The fare offered includes standard twin-bedded (two single beds) with private faciliites. Single supplement price is chargeable if you have requested for a separate single room. Normally, daily breakfast, hotel taxes, and service charges are included unless otherwise indicated that it is not yet specified in the tour price. Please note that only those persons listed on the booking are allowed to use your room. You will not be allowed to let other persons stay in the room unless you receive consent from the management. The hotel management has the right to hold you liable for any damages to the property or losses of inventory during your stay. You will also be responsible to arrange and pay for the local charges.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Ground Transportation is provided as indicated such as round trip transport between airports, hotels, piers, rail depot via car, mini-van, and or coach. For whole day use of ground transportation, we reserve the right to limit the use of the car for a total of 8 hours only. Private transfer in inter-city transfer includes coach, cars or mini-vans. DMT and our suppliers uses high-quality vehicles fully equipped with air-condition and other facilities for your comfort and convenience. However, due to some instances such as poor road system or poor gas quality, you may experience discomfort during your journey. Please note that there are still some areas in Myanmar where facilities and or amenities are not available, but we assure you that we will do our best to provide you with alternatives so you can enjoy comfortable and convenient travel. In the event that the mini-van, coach or car breaks, we will make the necessary arrangements for repairs soonest possible. If in case of a major damage and we believe it may compromise your safety, we are obliged to make alternative transport arrangements so you can continue your travels safely.
MEAL
By and large, Breakfasts (B) are served in hotels located in main cities. If the tour price indicates “Full Board” or “Half-Board”, this means that DMT will be responsible for your Lunch (L) or Dinner (D) in a local restaurant or in a hotel. We will also provide lunch box and/or dinner box when you book one of our adventure, hiking or trekking programs.
PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS
We will do our best to provide you with first-class services but we hope you understand that the tourism industry in Myanmar is still in its infancy stage. Power interruption is a regular scenario. While some of our partner hotels are equipped with generators, we cannot assure you that the air-conditioning and/or shower will always run smoothly. You agree to hold us not responsible where your television and/or any appliance provided are of low quality and/or not functioning due to power interruptions. There may also be instances of transportation interruptions where the mini-vans, boat, trains, and or aircraft may break down which can cause some delay. In the event this happens, DMT and our suppliers will do our best to assist you by providing alternative routes and travel modes. We will however not be liable for any loss of time, costs, and/or your failure to avail of other succeeding booked service.
If you encounter any problem during your stay in Myanmar, please notify our service providers so they can attend to your needs in due time. Should they fail to address your needs, please do not hesitate to call our customer service representatives so they can assist you as soon as possible. DMT’s contact details are provided in your travel documentations so you should always keep a copy with you at all times for your ease in contacting us. If you do not inform us of your concerns, we will not be able to act accordingly to meet your needs.
SPECIAL REQUEST
Myanmar is a developing country and has very limited facilities for disabled or elderly traveler. It is your responsibility to supply us with all necessary details regarding any disabled persons in your party, and we accept no responsibility or liability for failing to provide adequate facilities for a disabled person where we were not informed of their needs in advance of travel. We will always do our best to try and meet the needs but we cannot guarantee to be able to do so.
PERMITS
There are areas in Myanmar wherein you are required to obtain government-issued permits for you to enter. In such cases, we will inform you ahead of time regarding the costs and requirements to obtain the said permit. The issuance of the permit is not within our authority and we cannot guarantee you its approval. In the case that you do not receive approval, we will do our best to give you the full refund of your booking expenses. But please note that where we cannot give a full refund, this is due to the costs of permit application, administration fees and/or other associated costs incurred by our suppliers that are not refundable.
RESPONSBILITY
DMT will act as your travel agent during your stay in Myanmar including in-between travel by boat, rail, airplane, mini-van and other modes of transportation. However, we will not be liable for any damage, injury or loss that occurs outside the itinerary. We are not responsible for any unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, bad weather conditions, strike, sickness and any other delay that are beyond our control. Your booking confirmation will serve as a guarantee to us that you have understood and agreed to the terms and conditions stipulated in this agreement. We reserve the right to make the necessary amendments in the terms and conditions or make some changes in your schedule to ensure the best interest of our clientele. DMT will provide alternative transportation modes such as cars or mini-vans if it is deemed necessary particularly in the events beyond our control. We should not be held responsible for any negligence; breach of contract, and/or misinterpretations caused by other suppliers, carriers, and accommodation providers who offer their products or services through us. But we can act on your behalf to claim for compensations from the mentioned providers. If in case, you incurred illnesses, personal injury, or death due to the act or failure of the carrier or service providers; and/or you have any complaint about their services, you reserve the right to file a complaint against them. In such event, we will not be held accountable. We also do not guarantee you that you will not be exposed to health or political risks during your stay in Myanmar. We are not liable for any losses or damages incurred in between your travel in Myanmar. We strongly advise that you read and review travel warnings and advisories, prohibitions, and announcements issued by the local government. Furthermore, we are not answerable for any purchases you make while travelling in Myanmar whether the concerned seller is part of our arranged tour program or not.
CHILD DISCOUNT AND RATES
Children under 12 years of age enjoy 30% discount on land tours and 25% discount on airfare charges when accompanied by two adults. Should you request for an extra bed, this will be chargeable at adult rate.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS & VACCINATIONS
You should ensure that your passport (minimum of 6 months validity from the date of your departure), travel permits, visas, health certificates, vaccinations, immunizations, international driver’s license, and all other documentation required for your trip are in order. You are also required to obtain all travel documentations required by the Myanmar Government. We shall not be responsible for any additional costs incurred by your failure to conform to such requirements.
TOUR FARE INCLUSIONS
Domestic airfare, airport transfers (as specified), hotel accommodations, meals (as indicated), as mentioned in your booking forms, travel documentations and tour brochures.
TOUR FARE EXCLUSIONS
Travel insurance, visa fees, customs user fees, and any other service fees indicated by the airport and or airline authorities. Excess baggage, laundry, room services, beverages, gratuities to local guides, tour leaders, drivers, airport and hotel porters and other personal expenses are also not included. For visa fees, gratuities for drivers, local guides or tour leaders, tips for drivers or hotel porters and other special requests, please check with us.
