The Mergui Archipelago covers an enormous area that features more than 800 islands spread out in the Andaman Sea off the coast between Mergui and Kawthaung. Many islands are still off-limit to visitors and some are home to the Moken, or Sea Gypsies. The pristine untouched beaches and surrounding flora and fauna present a peace and beauty that will enchant nature and beach lovers alike. The beaches that are open to visitors are famous as a destination for diving, snorkeling and sea kayaking.
